Illinois Electric Council |
The Illinois
Electric Council (IEC)
is a not-for-profit
educational
organization
promoting safe,
efficient use of
electricity.
Headquartered at the
University of
Illinois and guided
by member
organizations, it is
comprised of
Illinois
investor-owned
electric utilities,
rural electric
cooperatives,
municipal electric
utilities,
educators, and
others interested in
helping consumers
learn how to better
use electricity.
For more than 50
years, the IEC has
provided an industry
forum to discuss
mutual goals, share
information and
develop educational
programs on safety
and efficiency,
power quality,
renewable energies,
and other topics.
While it began as an
Illinois based
entity, its work and
growing membership
have extended its
impact far beyond
its borders.
The IEC’s
award-winning
Safe
Electricity
awareness program
continues its
phenomenal growth
and impacts millions
of consumers.
