a number of years
the Cooperative has
had a water heater
program available to
members who allow
the Cooperative to
install a load
control switch on
their electric water
heaters. The load
control switch makes
it possible for the
Cooperative to shut
the water heater off
when there is a peak
demand for
electricity.
This is done an
average of 3 to 5
times each summer.
Controlling demand
saves the
Cooperative money on
wholesale power
costs and that is
why the program was
implemented.
The Cooperative will
provide a rebate on
electric water
heaters to members
for the amount of
$100. Members
may purchase a new
electric water
heater at any store
or business and the
cooperative will pay
them back $100,
after they provide a
receipt and after
the Cooperative has
installed a load
control switch on
the water heater.
Each member will
be limited to one
rebate. Please
contact the
cooperative for more
information.
