Start/Transfer/End Service

Welcome to Shelby Electric Cooperative (SEC)! We are a member-owned electric distribution cooperative. We also offer LP gas services, whole house generators and bulk oil supplies through our subsidiary Shelby Energy Company. Also, available through SEC is broadband Internet services through Shelby Fiber and PWR-net. If you want to become an electric customer just follow the instructions below.

Start Service

To receive services from SEC, you will need to become a member by completing our membership application. Click here to download the application.

Before starting service, Shelby Electric Cooperative will have to receive the completed and signed application as well as a copy of the prospective member's drivers license. A deposit may be necessary. You will also need to contact a representative from our office at (800) 677-2612 for more information or to answer any questions you may have.

Transfer Service

To transfer an already existing service, please contact our office at (800) 677-2612. A prospective member will need to complete a membership application and provide a copy of their drivers license to establish an account. If a prospective member has previously had a service from Shelby Electric Cooperative, they simply need to provide updated information. A deposit may be necessary.

End Service

If you are moving or need to disconnect a service, please call our office at (800) 677-2612 and one of our representatives will be happy to help you. You will need your account information, the date your service needs to end and any forwarding address information.
